Rolling hills/mountains

We encountered our first day with a vertical mile of climbing. We traveled 67 miles in total, with approximately 5,300 feet of ascent, and nearly all the climbing occurred in the first 36 miles. The temperature was in the mid-80s with full sun throughout the day. We truly earned our miles today! Kevin worked diligently following us, ensuring the team stayed rehydrated and refueled, as today's ride was quite remote. The remoteness brought some gravel into play. We rode at least 25 miles on crushed/loose stone. More of Idaho tomorrow as we make our way to Montana! 561 miles completed in the first 8 days. 3,465 miles yet to go!
